The Broom is linked with the elemt of water.  The broom is used to sweep a ritual area both indoors and out doors.  The sweeping is more than a physical cleanseing... the bristles needn't even touch the ground.  While sweeping visualize sweeping away all unwanted energy.

The wand can be used to direct magical energy, draw magical symbols, or draw a circle on the ground.  It is linked to the element of air.  It is usually made of wood or metal.  It is used very often in invocations.

  Censer

The censure is an incense burner.  It can be as complex or as simple as you like.

  Cauldron

The cauldron is an ancient vessel of cooking and brew making.  It is a symbol of the goddess.  It is linked to the element of water.

The athame is the ritual knife.  It is usually a black handled double bladed knife.  The blade is often dull.  This knife is not to be used for cutting.  It is used to direct energy raised during rights and spells.  The black handle absorbs energy so it can be used later.  Sometimes in larger more elaborate rituals a sward may be used instead.

The bolline is a practical working knife.  It is often white handled to distinguish it from the athame.  It is used to cut wands, to cut sacred herbs, inscribe symbols onto candles or wood or clay or wax. and in cutting cords for magick.

  Crystal Sphere

The crystal sphere is used for scrying.  Periodic exposure to moonlight will increas its ability to spark pschic powers.

  Chalice

The chalice is simply a cauldron on a stem.  It is linked with the element of water.  It may be used to hold water on the alter or contain the ritual beverage imbibed during the rite.

  Pentacle

The Pentacle is linked with the element of earth.  They can be used as protective devices, or used ritually to draw money.

  Bell

The bell is often used to invoke the goddess.  It also can be used to ward off evil spells and spirits, halt storms, or evoke good energies.  Some use the bell to signal the beginning or ending of a ritual.

The alter cloth is the covering over the alter.  It should be the color for the season.  Many use either black or white for the Esbats and festive colors for the Sabbats.

Alter List

The alter list is good to have.  It is simply a list of what you will need for a ritual.  If you use the list you can always be sure you dont forget anything.

  Candles

Candles are used for a lot of things.  You generaly have a goddess and god candle on your alter.  Candles of cirtain colors aid in certain spells.

  Incense

Incense is burned in the censure.  You can use any type of incense you wish.

Staff

The staff is use like a wand it is just larger.
